I decided to get another new dive site for myself here in Utah... On September 12th, Kelly (a Dive Addicts instructor), Merrill, Leon and Amy Smith (me... another Dive Addicts instructor) were headed to dive Electric Lake in the Manti-La Sal National Forest and found three lakes of interest, all within close proximity of each other.....Huntington, Cleveland and Electric. Upon further inspection of the three lake for entry points the decision was made to dive Huntington for the day. As stated above the water temp was brisk and we were unable to reach a depth greater then 38ft at the middle of the lake but have heard that the dam only offers a max depth of 60ft. The surface water temp was 54 degrees with a thermocline at 25ft where the temp shifted to a balmy 38 degrees, making our face and lips tingle. The outside temperature was approximately 80 degrees and we were thankful for that when exiting the water for some of us our drysuits weren't exactly dry. The scenery of the lake and surrounding mountain scape was breathtaking alone...the lake itself was very silty with a shallow bottom/depths, it was exceptionally clean of debris which is always nice to see as a diver. Soon we will explore the other two lakes to see if depths and underwater environment are similar. [caption id="attachment_219" align="aligncenter" width="584" caption="A beautiful view!"][/caption]
